Clay Riness - The Thanksgiving Ache lyrics
Stuff the turkey and baste it with care. This is my favorite bill of fare. Keep your lobster and your snails and your steak and give the Thanksgiving ache. Three bean salad, some pickles and pie. Squash and pumpkins and a snifter of rye. Bring on the mashed potatoes, bring on the cake. And give me the Thanksgiving ache. Whole plate of stuffing. I am not bluffing. I'll eat until I am so sore. Smothered with gravy, OK, well maybe. I can have myself just one plate more. Keep the cranberries they do not belong. Anything that turns my turkey purple is wrong. I'll trade it in on something good that was baked, And get me the Thanksgiving ache. Bring on the whipped cream. Oh, what a sweet dream. Make sure you spoon in all of that crust. A double piece please...celery with cream cheese? I might explode but I will adjust. An hour after I have finished my food, A turkey sandwich will taste really good. Sixty minutes is a long enough wait. So give me the Thanksgiving ache. |
