Artie Traum - Thief of Time lyrics
The White Horse Inn was closing down when the Thief of Time walked in. He looked a little restless, he was stretched a little thin. He was on a schedule, only known to him The Thief of Time was riding again. His eyes were glazed and weary, as he gazed across the room. He was lookin' for a girl in white who was hiding from the moon. Sitting in the shadows, she felt a sense of doom. She didn't think he'd come around so soon. Horses' hooves and cobble stones, cry of a hawk, a spirit groans, Second chance is all is fair, the Thief of Time is here. Now, he found her at a table with a dozen of her friends. She brushed the hair from her eyes and he decided to pretend. He touched her arm, she took his hand and said, "Don't you dare." And the Thief of Time just looked at her and stared. Horses' hooves and cobble stones, cry of a hawk, a spirit groans, Second chance is all is fair, the Thief of Time is here. Now a week or so would have given in to all the human error, But the girl in white just stood her ground and said, "Fair is fair." And the Thief of Time looked broken as reached out for her hand, And, just as fast, he seemed to disappear. Horses' hooves and cobble stones, cry of a hawk, a spirit groans, Second chance is all is fair, the Thief of Time is here. |
